Unfortunately, while still a part of Ford, Mercury stopped being produced after 2010. Therefore, there are no Mercury vehicle’s currently under factory warranty.

Mercury Vehicle History

Mercury was a division of Ford Motor Company. It was created in 1938 by Edsel Ford, Henry Ford’s only son. Mercury was created to partner with Ford and Lincoln vehicles to offer a entry level premium option within the Ford family. Mercury was headquartered out of Dearborn, Michigan In the United States. From 1945-2010, Mercury equaled half of the Lincoln=Mercury division. Consolidating the vehicles to Ford and Lincoln, the company went defunct in 2011.

Mercury vehicles competed with Buick, Plymouth and Oldsmobile when in the market. At the time, Mercury vehicles were compelling mispriced cars but some said it lacked identity and brand loyalty. Mercury did however give some memorable vehicles. Popular Mercury vehicles in the line over the years were the Montclair, the Commuter, the Mirauder, the Cougar, Sable and the Grand Marquis. At the time the division closed, Ford was producing vehicles in the US and in both Canada and Mexico, and the Middle East.

In June of 2010, Ford Motor Company announced the division was closing and they ended production in fourth quarter of 2010. The last vehicle to come out of production was the Mercury Grand Marquis in 2011. Mercury is still an active registered trademark of Ford.
