The Chrysler Corporation was originally founded in 1925. The founder was Walter P. Chrysler for which the brand is named. Over the years there have been several owners of Chrysler due to acquisitions and mergers. It currently is a part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. (FCA). FCA US LLC was established in October of 2014. Their current headquarters is in Amsterdam. The US headquarters are in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The financial headquarters are in London. It is traded on both the New York Stock Exchange and the Bora Italiana. FCA is a multinational corporation and is one of the largest auto manufacturers in the world.

The first Chrysler model was the Chrysler Six released in 1924. Walter Chrysler partnered with 3 ex-Studebaker engineers to build a new car for release. It wasn’t long till Chrysler was known as Detroit’s “engineering company” with the release of Floating Power. Floating Power was a new method of mounting car engines. In addition, they added replaceable oil filters and one pieced curved windshield. In the 30s and 40’s Chrysler released the Chrysler Airflow, the Chrysler Airstream, the Chrysler New Yorker, the Chrysler Royal and the Town and Country. Chrysler paved way in 1951 with the introduction of the hemispheric – head V-8 engine. Later to be the iconic HEMI engine. It combined better combustion, higher compression and lower heat loss to create more horsepower. The Chrysler HEMI engine is a trademark within Chrysler.

FCA also developed the SRT division which stands for Street and Racing Technology. FCA launched the SRT division within Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler brands. The SRT brand marked the models using the HEMI V-8 technology. Within Chrysler it was branded along with the Chrysler 300 and the Chrysler Crossfire. Additional models currently on the Chrysler roster are the Chrysler Pacifica, the Voyager and the Pacifica Hybrid. Chrysler called “America’s Import” goes strong today amongst the FCA set of vehicles. The group remains one of the largest auto manufacturers in the world.
