Why are cars with mechanical breakdown coverage more likely to command higher resale value than their uninsured counterparts? Having a mechanical breakdown coverage plan on your vehicle proves to buyers that your car, truck, or SUV has been well cared for. In most cases, purchasing a vehicle that has mechanical breakdown coverage means that the owner has already fixed those vehicle-specific problems that are common to that specific make and model.
Given a choice between two identical vehicles, one with mechanical breakdown coverage transferring with it, and the other without any sort of guarantee, a consumer’s clear choice is the vehicle that is covered. olive.com® helps mitigate vehicle depreciation by adding resale value to your ride. olive.com® is coverage when you need it, and, when you no longer need it, olive.com® is coverage you can transfer when you sell your vehicle.

Smart Car History
The name Smart comes from the Swiss company Swatch and Mercedes Benz. Swatch Mercedes ART, Smart. In addition, add a lowercase c for compact. The company was founded 26 years ago in 1994 and is a division of Daimler AG. A German company based in Boblingen, Germany. Smart was founded in 1994 but the idea developed in late 1982. The CEO of the popular watch company, Swatch had an idea to create a vehicle that one would be able to personalize the look and features of one’s car. The idea became known as the “Swatchmobile”. He strongly felt that a stylish city vehicle would be popular among city drivers. After many car manufacturers turned down his idea, he reached out to Daimler – Benz AG which is the manufacturer of Mercedes – Benz and they announced a deal in 1994. In a press conference they released two concept cars. Both the eco-sprinter and the eco-speedster were introduced.
The first-generation Smart car models were finally completed for sale in late 1998. The vehicles were rear engine, rear wheel drive, 2 passenger hatchback city cars. Soon after, they added a Roadster to the vehicle line up. It was a rear engine, rear wheel drive, 4-door, 4 passenger vehicles. Smart continued to add vehicles to the family and eventually in 2006, announced the development and testing of their Smart Electric vehicle. Up until 2008 Smart cars were not available for purchase at dealerships only sold on the grey market. The grey market legally imports autos and motorcycles in the US outside of the official distribution system. The sales of Smart Car in the US did not last long, due to slow sales and rules and standards needed for the Fortwo model. Smart exited the US market in 2019.
